Ingredients

  • ½ lb ground beef
  • 4 slices sandwich bread
  • ¼ cup butter softened
  • ½ white onion sliced thin
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • ¼ tsp seasoned salt

Burger Sauce

  • 2 tbsp mayonaise
  • tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tsp mustard

Instructions

Caramelized Onion

  • Over medium low heat, melt butter in a pan and add sliced onion. Cook for 20-30 minutes stirring occasionally until caramelized. Set aside.

Burger Sauce

  • Combine mayonnaise, ketchup, and mustard. Stir to combine and set aside.

Burger

  • Form ground beef into two ¼lb patties, large enough to cover the sandwich bread. Season with seasoned salt and cook in a pan over medium high heat until brown on both sides. Drain on paper towels.
  • To assemble, layer one slice of bread with desired amount of burger sauce, one cheese slice, caramelized onion, burger patty, another cheese slice, more burger sauce, and other slice of bread.
  • Butter the outside of the sandwich and grill over medium heat, about 3-4 minutes per side or until golden brown.
