Quick Rigatoni Bolognese


Rigatoni Bolognese
Pasta that taste like it took hours when in reality it took 30 minutes.

Ingredients
- 1 box Rigatoni noodles
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- ½ onion (diced)
- 1 Tbsp minced garlic
- 1 lb ground beef I like to use a leaner blend like 90/10
- 1 Tbsp Italian seasoning
- 2 tsp fennel seeds
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp red pepper flakes
- 1 jar pasta sauce about 24 oz
- ¼ cup heavy cream
- ½ cup freshly grated parmesan plus more for serving
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- In a large saucepan cook olive oil, onion, and garlic over medium heat until onions are translucent and garlic is fragrant.
- Add ground beef and cook until there is no pink left and the meat starts to caramelize.
- Add spices to the beef mixture and cook 1-2 minutes.
- Add the jar or pasta sauce and let simmer for 15 minutes.
- While sauce is cooking, bring a pot of salted water to a boil (when I say salty I mean like sea water salty) and cook noodles until al dente.
- Drain noodles reserving about 1/2 cup of pasta water
- Add cream to the pasta sauce and stir to combine.
- Add noodles and parmesan cheese, stirring in pasta water as needed until pasta is creamy.
- Taste and adjust for salt.
- Serve and enjoy!
