Bread Pudding French Toast
I’ve been making this recipe for a while now but, I’ve recently found out that actual french toast is just bread dipped in egg and panned fried. This is 100% not that but, I have no other way to describe this other than french toast, so we’re going to go with it.
Bread Pudding French Toast
My version of the classic breakfast recipe.

Ingredients
- 1 egg
- ½ cup heavy cream
- ½ cup milk
- 1 tbsp sugar
- ¼ tsp cinnamon
- pinch salt
- 4 slices thick sliced bread
- 2 tbsp butter plus more for serving
- maple syrup for serving
Instructions
- In a shallow bowl, mix together egg, cream, milk, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt and mix well to combine.
- Heat a large pan over medium heat and melt butter.
- Coat each side of bread well in custard mixture and once butter is bubbling, add soaked bread.
- Cook on each side until golden brown on each side.
- Serve with butter and maple syrup.
Notes
The milk and heavy cream can be subbed for half and half!
